Tell the Department of Justice to block the Ticketmaster - Live Nation merger
It's a horrible deal for fans of music. Don't take my word for it. Check out the site.

U2's manager showing he's an idiot again
Paul McGuinness needs to learn to keep his mouth shut before more U2 fans defect. This is the same brilliant manager who came out strongly in favor of the Ticketmaster/Live Nation merger. A merger that is virtually guaranteed to raise prices for the concert-goer. And U2 made millions from the stock they were given. His opinions may be good for U2's pocket book but they are irrelevant for 99.9% of artists and fans.

Need cheap wristbands for your venue or show?
A buddy of mine just started selling really inexpensive wristbands. You can even get them printed with your venue or band name and they will ship out within 24 hours.

Is pay for performers on radio a good thing?
For local bands I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not. Managing those payments would mean a lot of overhead and administrative headaches. Also, smaller stations -- the ones more likely to play indie music -- operate with much smaller budgets. This could be a crushing blow to them which would result in less revenues for indie bands instead of more. There should be some kind of grace period so that new music can be promoted without the fees.

Should ISP's be in the enforcement business?
First the RIAA, now the MPAA. I know piracy is a big issue but I really don't think that the ISP's have any obligation to share MY browsing habits with anyone. They should be like a priest or psychiatrist... unless there is an imminent chance of someone dying they need to keep their mouths shut!

Chicago's going to lose its local music scene
Here we go again. Politicians creating bad laws in response to criminal activity... thereby increasing the burden on law abiding citizens. This stupid ordinance will kill the local music scene in Chicago.

Ticketmaster/LiveNation merger deal needs to be stopped
This is horrible for music fans and bands alike. Prices will go up and the bands won't be able to do a thing about it to make shows affordable for their fans since the venues will be tied to TM's outrageous pricing.
